VIEW PROGRAM

For Benjamin, it is not about being the most technically skilled musician, but about daring to show who you are — especially as a man, where vulnerability is often overlooked. His passion for music was ignited at the age of 16 on an S-train, when he first heard the album “Perceptual” by Brian Blade’s Fellowship Band. In thatmusic, he encountered a sense of spirituality and something almost indescribable, present in the deep focus and improvisation. It was here that Benjamin experienced a greater meaning in music and felt truly at home. His contemporary compositions reflect both the difficult and the beautiful periods of life. They serve as a way of giving words and sound to emotions, relationships, and experiences from his upbringing, the present moment, and what lies ahead.

The music of “Echoes from Life” reflects Benjamin’s perception of the modern American jazz scene, Scandinavian jazz, ECM, and the spiritual jazz of the 1960s. His aim is to create a space where audiences not only listen to the music, but also a space where can listen to yourself.
